Color up your world with purple!

Posted on March 25 2019

Purple is a strong color that can really turn super vibrant when matched with other colors. It's a bold color that makes a statement!

History of Purple

Through history, purple was traditionally worn by royalty and people of high rank and authority. This was initially because of the rare occurrence of purple in nature, making it one of the most expensive color dyes to create. Purple combines the calm stability of blue and the fierce strength of red. Purple also represents meanings of wealth, extravagance, creativity, wisdom, dignity, grandeur, devotion, peace, pride, mystery, independence, and magic. Light purple or lavender is a feminine, graceful, elegant color that has long been associated with refined wealth women. Lavender is considered to be “the grown up” pink.

A Range of purple

We've chosen purple for some of most popular linen pieces. Our Linen Half Collar Asymmetrical long shirt for example is perfect for a casual but smart day piece. It's an eye catching shirt with cleverly cut seams that matches perfectly with a cami or vest to become an outer jacket.

Our Linen Bib neck top is a stylish and feminine top with a bib pleated round neck panel and a three quarter sleeve. The soft gathers with button detailing at either side to create a draped, bubble like silhouette.

Matching purple

So what colors go best with Purple? It all depends on the impression you want to make, or what mood you are in. Here’s a few ideas to get you started:

  • Pair blue and purple to give a look of royalty and loyalty. These tones are great for work wear.
  • Match red and purple for a sexy, passionate and luxurious look. This would be great for a night out or that hot date.
  • Try pink and purple for a feminine sexy look, perfect for parties!
  • Combining aqua and purple make for a fresh and bright friendly look. Great for spring and summer events.
  • Orange and purple go well together when trying to achieve that successful look. This combo is also great for autumn seasons.
  • Purple is an authoritarian, magical and royal color itself, and can be worn anywhere and anytime.
  • Try purple and black for a classic combination that tones down the color purple in your outfit

Why not pair one of these colors with our Linen color block Scooped neck tank in contrasting front panels detailed with buttons on each side. To complete the look why not pair it with our Double layer pants to complete your look.

Although purple may seem intimidating or different at first, pair it with the right colors, or if you are just starting out with this rich color combo, start with a toned cream or white top to create a beautifully strong outfit.
