Painting the Town Red with Linen
Posted on March 04 2019
When was the last time you stepped out in red? There is something about an earthy red linen piece. Red is traditionally known as the colour of extremes. Its long been associated with passion, love, seduction, violence, danger, anger and adventure. Red was almost as rare and as expensive as purple in ancient days. Red is the most popular colour used on flags in the world. Approximately 77% of all flags include red.
How do I wear red?
The best thing about such a bold colour like red is that it can turn any garment into a statement piece. It’s all about what you pair it with. Start with a pair of jeans, or black pants to really make the colour pop. This seasons’ trend is to mix red and pink for the ultimate fashion statement. Patterns can also be a fun way to rock the red trend this season. Although you might think it is more intense, a pattern can help break up the bright tone. While florals are a classic you should consider throwing in some checks, tartans, gingham or stripes.
Here’s a few pieces to get your inspiration flowing...

Add some red Accessories
If your not quite ready to go the bold, maybe start with red statement accessories. After all we know that your look goes beyond what clothes you choose to wear. Add a red handbag or a red scarf, add some patterns in if you are feeling like taking baby steps.
Mix tones
One of the best ways to start with any new colour is to play around with tones. You might find a nice pair of earrings that have a few flecks of red or other bolds in them. You may even come across a scarf that has some different tones in it. You can then feel comfortable wearing a red shirt and different toned shows for example because the scarf matches it all in.
So, be ready to paint the town red and turn up bold and beautiful!
